Complaints Procedure

This is the complaint procedure for all Seamstress Honeybee services

  1. Introduction

We are committed to providing a high quality service to all our customers. When something goes wrong, we need you to tell us about it. This will allow us to put things right for you and to help improve our service for others in the future.

  • Making a complaint

We aim to handle complaints quickly, effectively and in a fair and honest way. We take all complaints seriously and use valuable information from investigating to help us improve our service. We treat all complaints in confidence.

  • How you can make a complaint

  • How we handle complaints

A Melissa Lee will initially review the complaint. We will acknowledge a complaint within 7 working days and give you the name and contact details of the person investigating it. We will keep you informed about the progress of the investigation. We aim to have all complaints completed within 30 working days unless we agree a different time scale with you.

  • Time limits

You should register a complaint as soon as you can after the date on which the event occurred. If you complain more than twelve months later, we may not be able to investigate properly. Consideration will, however, be given as to whether you had good reason for not making the complaint sooner and whether, despite the delay, it is still possible to investigate the complaint effectively and fairly.

How Long We Store Personal Data

User data will be stored for up to 2 years after last contact with you.

Modifications

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. When we amend this Privacy Policy we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. Terms & Conditions
  1. General
    1. Application: These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by [Seamstress Honeybee] (“The Seamstress”) to clients (“The Client”). By commissioning services or placing an order, The Client agrees to be bound by these terms.
    1. Services: We offer a range of sewing and tailoring services, including but not limited to, alterations, bespoke custom makes, and Bridal services
  2. Appointments and Fittings
  1. By Appointment Only: Fitting consultations and garment collections are by appointment only.
  2. Cancellations: If The Client needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, they must provide a minimum of 24 hours notice
  3. Missed Appointments: The Seamstress reserves the right to charge a fee for missed appointments or cancellations with less than the required notice.
  4. Essential Items: For all fittings, The Client must bring any specific shoes, underwear, or other garments they intend to wear with the final item, as these affect the fit. The Seamstress is not responsible for any fit issues arising from a change in these items. 
  5. Pricing, Payments, and Quotes
    1. Quotes: A cost estimate will be provided after the initial consultation. This price is based on the work discussed. The final cost may vary if The Client requests changes or additional work.
    2. Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required before any work begins. This covers the cost of materials and secures the booking.
    3. Full Payment: Full payment is required upon completion of the work and before the garment is collected.
    4. Late Payments: The Seamstress reserves the right to charge storage fees for items left uncollected for more than 7 days after the agreed-upon collection date. Any item left beyond 90 days may be sold or disposed of to cover costs.
  6. Garment and Materials
  1. Client-Supplied Items: The Seamstress will exercise the utmost care with your garments, but cannot be held liable for pre-existing flaws, damages, or issues arising from the quality of the client-supplied fabric.
  2. Condition of Garment: We reserve the right to refuse service for any garment that is unclean, soiled, or deemed unsuitable for the requested work.
  3. Liability: The Seamstress cannot be held liable for any damage to a garment once it has been collected by The Client.
  4. Measurements: The Seamstress is not responsible for any fit issues caused by changes in The Client’s measurements (e.g., weight gain or loss) after the initial fitting. 
  5. Alterations and Custom Orders
    1. Agreement to Work: By providing a deposit, The Client agrees to the work as outlined in the quote. Once work has commenced, further changes or reversals may be chargeable.
    2. Cancellation: Custom and alteration orders cannot be cancelled and are non-refundable once work has started, as they are personalised to The Client’s specifications.
    3. Inspecting Final Work: The Client is required to try on and inspect the garment at the final fitting to ensure satisfaction. The Seamstress cannot be held responsible for further changes or issues once the garment has been collected.
    4. Handmade Variance: Due to the bespoke nature of our services, minor variations in a custom-made garment are normal and not considered faults. 
  6. Website and Intellectual Property
    1. Use of Site: The content of this website is for your general information and use only. Unauthorized use or reproduction is prohibited.
    2. Promotional Rights: The Seamstress reserves the right to use photographs of completed work for promotional purposes, such as on the website or social media. Client details will remain anonymous unless explicit consent is given.
    3. Data Protection: We comply with data protection regulations UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  7. Delivery and Shipping for Memory Animals Only
    1. Tracking and Insurance: All finished items will be sent back to you using a tracked and insured service. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged by the postal service after dispatch.
    2. Incorrect Address: It is your responsibility to provide the correct shipping address. We are not liable for items delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer. Any costs for resending an item will be the customer’s responsibility.
  8. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds
    1. Cancellations: Orders for bespoke, personalised items cannot be cancelled once production has started.
    2. Returns: Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds unless the item is faulty.
    3. Faulty Items: In the unlikely event of a faulty product, you must contact us within 7 days of receipt, providing photos of the fault. We will determine if the item can be repaired or replaced. If a refund is necessary, it will be issued at our discretion.
